Introduction to the Uddhava Gita
With Peter Copley and Pooja Copley
January 11 - 13, 2019
The Uddhava Gita is Krishna’s final teaching before leaving his body. Just as the Bhagavad Gita is part of the larger teaching known as the Mahabharata, the Uddhava Gita is part of the larger teaching known as the Bhagavata Purana. The conversation is between Krishna and his cousin Uddhava, one of his foremost devotees. The Bhagavad Gita takes place on the battlefield just before the great war that ushers in the end of an age. The Uddhava Gita takes place in a palace in Dvaraka where the gods, demigods and angels have assembled to pay homage to Krishna before he leaves the world. Many say that the Uddhava Gita picks up where the Bhagavad Gita left off. This penultimate teaching of Krishna is inspirational and life transforming.
