Christ Lives, An Oratorio
Performed by the Ananda Joy Choir with conductor David Eby, soprano Vinaya Gorna, mezzo-soprano Bhagavati Nani, tenor Ramesha Nani, and baritone Dambara Begley.
Feel the upliftment and inspiration of Easter with this beautiful music.
In the tradition of Handel’s Messiah, Christ Lives is a contemporary oratorio vividly bringing to life the deep meaning of Christ’s life. Composed by Swami Kriyananda after visiting the Holy Land in 1983, Christ Lives brilliantly captures the profoundly inspiring and uplifting experience Kriyananda felt as he traveled in the footsteps of Jesus. Already considered by many to be a contemporary masterpiece, this oratorio reaches the soul with the message and spirit of Christ’s life, as music alone can do.
Sung before Pope John Paul, winner of three European music prizes.
